LeagueShares has filed registration statements with the SEC for a series of Major League Baseball Team Performance ETFs. The registration statements are not yet effective.
BURLINGTON, Vt., Sept. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — LeagueShares, LLC today announced that registration statements for a series of Major League Baseball team performance ETFs have been filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The registration statements are not yet effective, and there is no assurance that any fund will be launched or listed.
A sports performance benchmark is a published, rules-based index that turns official league statistics into an index level. A regulated exchange lists cash-settled futures contracts on that index. A fund holds those contracts. The exposure is designed to reach an ordinary brokerage account — it conveys no ownership of a club, and it aims to track a published index level rather than the result of any single game.
LeagueShares was formed to create access to sports performance as an asset class in regulated, exchange-listed funds. The registration statements filed in August 2026 cover the National Hockey League. The suite now expands its registrations to cover Major League Baseball.
Baseball asks for the most extreme kind of loyalty there is. One hundred sixty-two games. Six months of weeknights and weekends. Most fans don’t pick their teams but rather inherit them, from a parent, family member, or city that they love. Fans have kept the scorecards, the road trips and the arguments for generations.
“Baseball fans were reading box scores before anyone called it data,” said Springer Harris, chief executive officer of LeagueShares. “They travel for it, they argue about it, they hand it down. We filed these registration statements to bring Major League Baseball team performance, as measured by published indexes, into regulated, exchange-listed funds, if and when the registration statements become effective.”

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold, nor may offers to buy be accepted, prior to the time the registration statement becomes effective. This announcement shall not constitute an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy, nor shall there be any sale of these securities in any state or jurisdiction in which such an offer, solicitation or sale would be unlawful prior to registration or qualification under the securities laws of any such state or jurisdiction.
This announcement is for informational purposes only and does not constitute an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy any fund, product or service. Any offering will be made only by means of a prospectus. Investors should consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses carefully before investing. A preliminary prospectus for each fund has been filed with the SEC and may be obtained at sec.gov. The preliminary prospectus contains this and other important information about the funds and should be read carefully before investing.
Statements regarding future plans are forward-looking and subject to change. There is no assurance that any product, filing or listing referenced in this or any future document will be completed, become effective, or be listed.
Investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal. If launched, the funds would be new and would have no operating history. Each fund would invest in futures contracts on a sports performance index. Such contracts may not be available, and the market for them may be new and have limited liquidity. The value of a fund would rise and fall with the published index level, which depends on team statistics, and could decline substantially in a short period. A fund is not a way to support a team, and a fan’s interest in a team is not a basis for investing in a fund tied to it.
Registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission does not imply a certain level of skill or training.
